Where does the name Delirious Blue come from?

In the summer of 2012, Delirious Blue Jewelry was crafted from the desire to design eco-friendly jewelry, the dedication to pursue my dreams, and a little bit of love. The name comes from the first poem I took a liking to as a child, and as my love of literature often intersects with my work, I found it quite fitting.

“I’ve chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I’ve topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew”

I, too, reach for that long delirious blue, reaching toward that which seems dreamy and slightly out of reach. In my design and in my business, I am inspired to “reach for the skies” and make beauty from the unseen and unused.

Are all of your materials eco-friendly?

I try to use eco-friendly materials in every capacity possible. The majority of the costume jewelry is made with stainless steel, which you can read more about in this blog post.

All of my metal work, including 14k gold filled, copper, and sterling silver are sourced from a US-based company that sells 100% recycled metals. The metal is just as valuable and attractive as “new” but is eco-friendly.

If you are ever unsure of what is being used in an item you are ordering, please message me. I’m happy to answer any questions!

I see a picture in your portfolio but can't find it for sale. Can I buy one?

I love to make custom orders and one-of-a-kind pieces. From time to time, I discontinue a piece, but it can often be replicated. If you see something you like, feel free to message me, and we can work out the details.

In what other ways is your business eco-friendly?

All business cards and store tags are printed on a recycled card stock; all orders come in a box handmade with recycled paper; packaging and supplies are reused; and promotions donate to causes that help the environment.

Can I send you a special wine cork to have you make into a necklace?

Absolutely! I have done this for many people. It is a great joy for me to make something special for customers. Simply send me a message to get started. Custom wine cork necklaces range from $24-$30 each depending on what you’re looking for.
